LONDON, 9 APR 2021 – In front of Buckingham Palace, Londoners pay their respects to Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, after his death at 99, the longest-serving consort in the history of the British monarchy. The Duke of Edinburgh died on 9 April 2021, two months before his 100th birthday.
He retired from his royal duties aged 96, on 2 August 2017, having completed 22,219 solo engagements and 5,493 speeches since 1952.
