Rishi Sunak, Chancellor of the Exchequer leaves No.11 Downing Street to present his budget to Parliament holding up the traditional red briefcase that contains the budget speech.

The Chancellor used his annual budget statement to promise yet more spending to help the economy during what many expect to be the last phase of lockdown. However, he also heralded tax rises to start plugging the gargantuan deficit in the UK public finances.
